‘Vadiyar’ to vie at Odense filmfest

Iranian short film ‘Vadiyar’ is scheduled to be screened at the Odense International Film Festival in Denmark.

Iranian short film ‘Vadiyar’ is scheduled to be screened at the Odense International Film Festival in Denmark.

Directed by Marjan Khosravi, the 15-minute fiction will vie at the International Section of the 2022 edition of the festival.

Produced in 2021, ‘Vadiyar’ will be screened for the audience with English subtitles.

“In a remote mountain village, a wolf attacks a boy’s mother. This simple premise is the vantage point for a powerful tale in a beautifully colored visual palette, which at its center circles around themes of clemency, mercy, masculinity and making the right decisions in seemingly impossible situations,” a synopsis of the film reads.

Masih Najafi, Maryam Moradian, Habib Tajmiri, Didar Mahmoudi and Majid Yousefi star in the short film.

Odense International Film Festival is Denmark's oldest and largest short film festival with a long and successful tradition that annually gathers film enthusiasts from near and far to experience short films from across the globe and of all genres that would otherwise never reach the big screen.

The 47th edition of the event is slated for August 29 – September 4, 2022.
